70915 – The Lego Batman Movie – Two-Face™ Double Demolition

I bought this set for one reason only, one minifigure in particular, Two-Face. He, indeed, proved to be a spectacular minifigure. On the one side, he comes across as a regular businessman; dark grey suit, hair slicked back, but his left side appears mutilated, his flesh melted away. He looks like he was side-dipped in acid. Highly detailed with arm and leg printing, this villain looks ghoulish and gruesome but his heart-print underwear poking through his melted trousers offer a light-hearted touch.  The designers behind Two-Face really did an amazing job.

Other minifigures in this set are Batman (this version only available in this set and The Ultimate Batmobile (70917)), and two members of the Gotham City Police Department. With printed badges on their right arms, printed vests and their take-no-nonsense smirks; these are two officers that shouldn’t be overlooked.

The smaller of the two vehicles in this set, Batman’s Batcycle, is a great addition to have in Batman’s fleet. The black and red colour scheme looks great and fits in well with “The Speedwagon” (70905),
“Black Thunder” (70916), and “Riptide” (70909); this rendition aptly named “Bat Hawk.”

The most surprising part of this set is Two-Face’s schizophrenic front-end loader. Just like the villain himself, his vehicle of choice has two different sides. One; grizzly, bold and fierce in black, reddish brown and trans-purple, the other a completely normal everyday front-end loader. A vehicle with a split personality, spikes, ammo, shooters and turbines alongside sleek bright light orange and white with signage and safety labels.

This eccentric vehicle ended up being much bigger than expected and offered a very unconventional building process. It is one of the most interesting things I’ve built with no repetitiveness at all.

The front of the vehicle connects to the rear by means of a technic axle and a flat silver ribbed hose creates the impression of a hydraulic tube. It drives very well and turns much like the real thing. The driving cabin offers enough room for Two-Face to sit or stand and continues the dual sided theme with a stickered dashboard of opposing designs.

Two-Face double demolition is an amazing set all round. Whether you’re collecting super-villains, need an awesome high-powered vehicle, feel the need to build something exceptional or just want to play; this is the one for you.
